2007 MSV Shiraz Grenache Mataro, Barossa Valley
A benchmark SMG, this is one of the biggest wines in the mix this year, but it is also one of the sexiest, too! I am a firm believer in big is beautiful and yet in the wine word this is rarely the case. Shiraz, Mataro and Grenache work like the three musketeers when they are on form and this wine is in perfect balance. After you’ve drunk through a host of other bottles which didn’t quite float your boat, open this and wait for the ‘Wows’!
