2008 The Lane Single Vineyard Unwooded Chardonnay

When your fruit is this good why trouble it with an oak barrel. The integrity and complexity intrinsic in this Chardonnay is a direct reflection of the outstanding ‘terroir’ at The Lane. There are people in Burgundy who would kill to have raw materials as fine and intricately detailed as this. And despite the lack of oak there is nothing missing in richness and body on the palate. Where this wine goes others will follow but all will be pretenders to the throne.
